Weather: Another chilly day on the tower! Though the wind wasn't as strong as the past couple day, it was still brisk and plenty strong. Raptor Observations: About 20 of the raptors migrated over between 11:30-12. Mostly Red-tailed Hawks again today, but we did also get a few Red-shouldered Hawks. A high-up Turkey Vulture had us excited briefly hoping for a Golden Eagle. Non-raptor Observations: A group of 57 Tundra Swans flew over heading S high in the sky. One single Sandhill Crane was seen flying out over the marsh, interestingly, it had one of its legs dangling down. The Cormorants and Herons are almost all gone for the winter, just a few seem to be left. For the full eBird checklist, go to http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S32658992 Predictions: Another cold day tomorrow, with more Northwesterly winds, but still lighter than today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Sean Jenniskens ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
