Good morning,

Just to make sure people are aware on on the lok out, I saw a possible white-fronted / pink footed goose on the Rideau River this morning +/- 0720.  It was with a flock of approximately 50 Mallards on the ice below the walking bridge across the Rideau River at Strathcona Park.  I only saw it for a less than 20 seconds and was unable to get a picture. A cyclist came along and it spooked the bird. I am not familiar with these birds, so any help in relocating it would help prove my sanity :)

What makes me think it was something special was its size, smaller than a Snow or Canada Goose.

It had a shorter neck and a very light greyish colouration on its back with a whitish belly.  There was an illusion of barring on the wings.  Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to note colour of the feet or legs due to the mallards around it.

Thanks for the patience.
