Snow cover is still extensive in Algonquin Park and knee-deep in many shaded

areas. We will avoid deep snow and melt puddles when possible, but

appropriate footwear is strongly recommended.

 

Start Time and Location:

9 am in the Visitor Centre lobby (km 43 on Highway 60).

Coffee should be available starting at 8 am!

 

End Time and Location:

About 4 pm at the West Gate on Highway 60.

No problem if you need to leave earlier.

 

Park Use Permits: 

Available between 8 and 9 am at the Visitor Centre. Just come to the Visitor

Centre rather than obtaining your permit at the gates. Permits for both

Daily use and Summer Seasonal use are available.

 

Lunch Location: 

At the Visitor Centre. Bring your own and/or purchase lunch, coffee, etc. at

the Visitor Centre restaurant.

DIRECTIONS:

Algonquin Provincial Park is three hours north of Toronto, via Highways

400, 11 and 60. Follow the signs which start in Toronto on Highway 400.

>From Ottawa, take Highway 17 to Renfrew, then follow Highway 60 to the

park. Kilometre markers along Highway 60 in the Park go from the

West Gate (km 0) to near the East Gate (km 56).
