the hilliardton marsh research and education centre was delighted to have the chance to band a beautiful yellow headed blackbird on may 5th apparently it had been sighted a day earlier but not reported by an inexperienced volunteer then was heard singing by Chris Sukha before it was captured in a j trap!! WE are about to get 5 cm of snow I will report on monday if whether it is hanging around or not. It is presently raining so there is no banding going on today.
the hilliardton marsh is located about 6 hours north of toronto and is about half an hour from newliskeard the closest destination town and good referecne on a map as there is no true town of hilliardton. All the best in birds. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
