The rain has stopped but with the northerly flow of winds not too many new migrants were noted. However, birders were reporting a number of good birds from those lingering during the last few days. About 15 warbler species have been reported so far. The Tip did not produce too many species this morning but an EARED GREBE was found again. A bit further north in Sparrow Field there was a SEDGE WREN. On the West Beach Trail just north of the intersection with the trail to the Halfway Tram stop, a few lucky people found a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER. In Woodland Trail on the east side between the Visitor Centre and bridge C especially, a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, AMERICAN REDSTART, BLACKBURNIAN and several other warblers were noted. A VEERY was found near Bridge F. As well a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was found. Tilden Woods had a good selection of species. Near the boardwalk and on the western seasonal trail there were CERULEAN, and NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH reported, as well as a HOODED WARBLER. A SOLITARY SANDPIPER, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER and RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were noted. Also VEERY, HERMIT, WOOD, and SWAINSON'S THRUSH were seen and heard. On Shuster Trail there was a VIRGINIA RAIL still calling, and just further east near the little bridge, a LEAST BITTERN also calling. Along the Chinquapin Trail, north of Tilden Woods at the Cactus Field, the YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was still being seen after 3 days, mostly hanging out at the north edge of the field near the main trail.
