What a fantastic experience!
Take the road down the side of Hillman Marsh, Mersea Road 2. There is a small 
parking lot on  the left where there is a boat launch. Park and head back to 
the entrance. There is some ?Willow scrub on one side. Scan the base... the 
bird was only about 3 metres in and VERY  easy to see. Seen around 4pm on May 
17. 
After seeing the mating flight display with Pelee's twilight hike, this capped 
off a fabulous 3 days of birding!
