What a fantastic experience! Take the road down the side of Hillman Marsh, Mersea Road 2. There is a small parking lot on the left where there is a boat launch. Park and head back to the entrance. There is some ?Willow scrub on one side. Scan the base... the bird was only about 3 metres in and VERY easy to see. Seen around 4pm on May 17. After seeing the mating flight display with Pelee's twilight hike, this capped off a fabulous 3 days of birding! -Julia Lucignani
