Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 12:00:00
Total observation time: 5 hours
Official Counter: Bob Johnstone
Observers: Cary Graham, Keith Sealy, Murray Larmour, Remy Pokraka,
Ronnie Goodhand
Visitors:
Thanks to Bob, Keith, Ronnie, Cary, Reinholt and Murray for hanging out
today and getting at least a few birds for the count.
Weather:
Another summer like day with temps climbing to 27C and moderate S to SW
winds for the day. Very little cloud to start and then it disappeared.
Raptor Observations:
Just 7 birds today... BUT at least 4 of them were Peregrines! Others were a
couple of Sharpies and a single Am. Kestrel.
Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptors reported for today... Am. Crow, YB Sapsucker, WB Nuthatch,
House Wren, Canada Geese, Wood Thrush, Philadelphia Vireo, Eastern Towhee,
Northern Parula, RC Kinglet, White-crowned, White-throated and Song
Sparrows, BC Chickadees, N. Cardinals, Downy Woodpecker, Cedar Waxwings, RT
Hummingbird and Gray Catbirds. Count for Blue Jays today was 920.
Monarch count: 75
Predictions:
Winds are predicted to be strong to VERY strong from the SW for tomorrow
with gusts as high as 50 kph. Combine this with the fact that it's prime
time for the Peregrines to migrate through and they love to ride this kind
of wind as it blasts up the cliff and it could be a very interesting day
for Wednesday.
