Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Carol Pitts, Chad Saladin, Chris Saladin, Ed Pitts,
                  Jim McCoy

Visitors:
The Pitts, Saladins, and Mr. McCoy. A special thanks to Jim for helping
count the Vultures while they were migrating on both side of the tower.

Weather:
Moderately strong southwesterly winds were upon us for the greater part of
the day. Most of the day was also cloudless.

Raptor Observations:
A good day for raptors, mainly Turkey Vultures. During the hour between
11am to noon local time, 4466 Turkey Vultures were counted; surprisingly
most were fighting the winds and keeping to the shoreline.

Non-raptor Observations:
The first Tundra Swan of the year was feeding below the tower with some
Mute Swans. Quite a few Cormorants were observed today, many appeared to be
migrating. There were 8 Am. White Pelicans that made several fly-bys today
as well. 3 N. Rough-winged Swallows, 8 Am. Pipits, and the first 2 Eastern
Meadowlarks were counted migrating also. For the full eBird checklist:
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39984814 Only 3 Monarchs today.

Predictions:
More sun and SW winds.
