Greetings fellow birders:
Several Common Moorhen were spotted earlier today - May 8th - at the Port Rowan Wetlands swimming with Northern Shoveler, Mallard, Bufflehead and Redhead. At the Bird Studies Canada Old Cut station there were a myriad of migrants: Yellow-throated Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Veery, Hermit Thrush, Lincoln Sparrow, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and American Redstart. To get to the Port Rowan Wetlands drive east on Front/Lakeshore Road toward Port Rowan and turn left onto Hunter Drive. To get to Old Cut station continue down Highway #59 through the causeway heading toward Long Point Provincial Park, turn left onto Old Cut Blvd. Good birding, Dave Jolly, Tel: 226-926-1470 earthquestATyahoo.com _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
