Festival of Flight May 14th Morning Report

A somewhat quiet day in the park for bird activity with the exception of one
trail. Trail conditions in the park are in very bad shape with most of our
trails partially submerged in water. Tulip Tree, South Point, Log Pond, are all
very wet and require rain boots to complete. Water proof boots, and rain gear
are a must in order to adequalty complete the trails in comfort.

The section of Harrison Trail starting at Pony Barn until Bennett Rd has been a
hot spot for birding activity. 21 Species of Warblers are present on the Trail
as well as a total of nearly 85 bird species. Highlights on Harrison include
Golden-winged Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Indigo Bunting, Summer Tanager,
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Bobolink (Flyover), and many spring firsts for the
park.

It is also worth noting that Red-eyed Vireos, Empidonax Flycatchers, as well as
American Redstarts are all coming in bigger numbers through the park today.

Join us from May 1st until the 20th for the Festival of Flight
