At 9:20 am, the Ruff was about 1.5 km farther up McKinnon Rd (just before
the closed road off that runs off McKinnon to the left/west). The many
shorebirds there, including the Ruff, were only briefly in the open water
there, but could be observed (with patience) foraging in the mud between rows
of corn stubble on the west side of the road.
     good birding, Martin Daly
Had anyone mentioned that he has a golden "mane" atop his black ruff? It was
his golden crown that caught my eye.

Hi all,

The Ruff was still present along McKinnon Road as of 7:30 am. It was feeding on
the West side of McKinnon Road about 750 m north of County Road 90. (West of
Barrie)

Good birding,
