A small group of young birders aged 11 to 13, accompanied by by Bill Gilmour,
Doug McCrae, Ian and Sofia Shanahan, Baxter Naday and Caoline Biel saw and
heard 127 species in Presqu'ile Park and local hots spots including the
Brighton Managed Wetlands. The birdathon began at 10:00 on Saturday and
finished at 10:00 Sunday.

The total was impressive because most of the birds were breeding birds.
Migrants were scarce on the ground. Highlights included a singing Lawrence's
Warbler, great views of a Barred Owl being chased by a Cooper's Hawk and a
Cattle Egret in breeding plumage.

Many thanks to Bill and Margaret for their hospitality and the use of their
yard for camping and many birds.
