Rondeau Festival of Flight May 3rd Morning Report

An exciting morning to start off the day here in Rondeau. 20 Species of
Warblers have been seen in the past few hours primarily in the north end of the
park. Hooded and Blue-winged warblers were seen on Harrison along with well
over ten species of warblers. Another Blue-winged was seen on Warbler Way
amongst Magnolia, Cape May, and Pine Warblers.

The diversity is quite good in the park and with fair numbers. Also, worth
noting is the high number of Blue-headed Vireos, Great-crested Flycatchers, and
the continuation of thousands of White-throated Sparrows.

Warbler Way, which has been mentioned in past reports is the new and more
appropriate name for the trail previously named “Maintenance Loop”. The Trail
Is off of Rondeau Rd just past the park store and also can be accessed by
Rondeau Avenue by turning down towards the Trailer Sanitation area.

The south end of Harrison Trail, South Point, and Marsh Trail are extremely wet
and flooded in parts, tall boots are recommended.

Join us from May 1st until the 19th for the Festival of Flight.

Guided hikes available.
