Good morning Birders! In spite of a dreary start the birding was excellent this morning with large numbers of early migrants still passing through including HERMIT THRUSH, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and early warblers like PALM and YELLOW-RUMPED.
Many other migrants are being reported in good numbers. About 20 species of warblers including HOODED, BLUE-WINGED, CERULEAN, PROTHONOTARY, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS. Highlights of the morning so far included LARK SPARROW at the Tip. A PRAIRIE WARBLER was found along West Beach and YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was north of the Northwest Beach Parking Lot. A RED-THROATED LOON was noted off the Tip. Birding is good throughout the Park. Many birds first found at the Tip were moving northward into the Park through the morning.
