I just found two Snowy Egrets in the field-turned-wetland at the intersection
of Mersea Rd 2 and Mersea Rd 21 north of Hillman Marsh, east of Leamington in
Essex County. This is the same location as the Black-bellied Whistling-Duck.
They are foraging among at least 8 Great Egrets and might require some patience
to see, as they have been walking in and out of view behind some cattails.
There is also a Stilt Sandpiper here, along with a decent selection of common
shorebirds.
