Early yesterday afternoon Ross Wood and I observed a Prairie Falcon darting
east along the shore about 5km east of the ‘New’ Long Point Provincial Park.
This area is private land and access is restricted - we were in a boat.

This is Long Point’s second Prairie Falcon. Miraculously, the first Prairie
Falcon was observed at the Tip of Long Point 18 years ago to the day - August
24, 1996!

Hopefully it’ll show up again on Long Point, or somewhere more accessible along
Lake Erie’s north shore.

Good birding,

Stu

To get to Long Point, follow the birds, or Hwy 59 south from the 401 until you
hit Lake Erie. More information can be found in the Long Point Birding Trail -
