Thank you to Chip Ogglesby, Noel, Shawn, Len Jones, Jim McCoy, Mike, Dave
Martin, and Linda Wladarski. Thank you for your visit!

Weather:
What looked like a promising day for raptor migration was not we got on the
tower. A full cloud cover and strong winds from the East really cooled us
down.
The rain came earlier than expected but since nothing was flying, we packed
up early just before most of the rain.

Raptor Observations:
Not many raptors flying today, with a daily total of 73 raptors, all mostly
Turkey Vultures (53). Thankfully, some Sharp-shinned Hawks (15), Northern
Harriers (3), a Cooper's Hawk and an immature Bald Eagle also came through
to keep us entertained.

Non-raptor Observations:
Also a slow day for non-raptor species, with highlights including a Hairy
Woodpecker, and an Orange-crowned Warbler.
Many ducks still on the marsh, though difficult to see since they are quite
far. We were lucky to have something spook many Mallards into the air,
enabling us to count 600 individuals.
We were also happy to see over 100 Tree Swallows feeding over the marsh
later in the morning.

Blue Jays: 3,320
Starling: 90
Cedar Waxwing: 57
Red-winged Blackbird: 40
American Goldfinch: 35
Tree Swallow: 126

Predictions:
Tomorrow a cold front is moving in, so we expecting cooler temperatures for
most of the day, but we hope the sun will warm things up. The wind is
expected to blow from the West in the morning only to shift to the
South-West in the afternoon. We are hoping to see more buteo like
Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks.
