So,

Unfortunately I did not have enough time to check out Mono GC in
detail and put together a worthy proposal, so I fell back on my
original idea and applied with Jikes RVM to implement "The Compressor"
garbage collector. For what it's worth I also sent an application to
the Hurd project [1], although I expect they will prefer new
contributors.

This being said, i'm grateful to all of you for taking the time to
share your thoughts about this. I will probably look into precise
garbage collection in Mono for next year, or maybe as a university
project.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for working on
BitC in the open. Although some of the discussions happening here are
still somewhat over my head, following bitc-dev really got me
interested in language design and it has been a wonderful way of
learning about it.
