so there's what i can currently download/buy, and there's what i wish were out of the ivory towers and into my hands.
the things which i can get all seem to be not good enough for doing interactive apps on mobile devices. there are generally some kind of pauses visible to the end user now and then. the research i scare up with web searches make me dream: e.g. the link i posted before by Bacon http://researcher.watson.ibm.com/researcher/files/us-bacon/Bacon03Pure.pdf or this mix for young/old generations: http://grothoff.org/christian/teaching/2007/4705/urc-oopsla-2003.pdf etc. i'm sure there's more cool cool stuff out there. My day-dream is that somehow these couldawouldashoulda been written with a Boehm compatible (as much as possible) API so that they could be dropped in.
