The asumption that all networks have their shit together is generally not
a good one. The problem you experience used to be almost the entirity of
my job at medweb.

Of course the box that the route is hanging on is the problem. It has no
route, so that's where you need to start looking. You've got the right
idea though.

Tack is right too, if you can get your hands on tracepath, it's a much
better program.
