-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 http://www.unixreview.com/articles/2001/0108/0108g/0108g.htm Did anyone read the article on openunix 8? It was posted to slashdot today. They've built a complete linux distro, but using the SCO Kernel instead of the Linux one. Pretty neat really, according to the article, it will actually run well on more than 4 processors, unlike Linux, and has better File system support, with Veritas VFS. Seems like if they can actually maintain binary compatibility with linux, it could be a threat to Solaris, althought they're working on their own 'linux compatibility mode' too. It never really occured to me to think of improving the scalability of Linux by replacing the Kernel... does that make this GNU/SCO? - -Lkb -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.4 (OpenBSD) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE7gDBu4HF/68S5aGgRAn7yAJ4rBch5b/4KTKTreevrfEVEsmBybQCfaqLF GrIIsr5bltvTCtj29tSX9MY= =jOJl -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
