That's coz you're using Mandrake's evil automounter (as indicated by the
"auto" in the place where the default filesystem should go). For that,
the "owner" option makes the file-system writeable. In fact, it may even
be the case that Mandrake's automounter makes /dev/fd* writeable by
default.
