At Lorin's urging, I've been trying out KDE instead of my old standby,
GNOME. I'm having difficuolty figuring out some of the configuration
stuff. If anyone can give me some hints on the following problems, I'd be
much appreciative.
1) when I try to assign keyboard shortcuts for the desktop:
a) the assignment console doesn't recognize the fact that I have
L-CONTROL and CAPS-LOCK switched
b) it won't let me assign any key sequence with three
modfying control characters (e.g. "CTL-ALT-SHIFT-Tab")
c) it won't let me use the SHIFT control character to modify the
right/left/up/down buttons
d) it won't let me assign anything to F1, claiming that F1 is
already assigned to something called "default action", but I can't find
where this assignment is made so I can change it
2) It doesn't remember the geometry, etc., of windows in window
applications when I close and then reopen them. It always gives me this
weak-ass small window for every single app, no matter I had modified it
last time it was open, and I can't find any "remember window specs" config
option
3) I can't figure out how to open konsoles with customized schemas,
including font selection, already active
Thanks!
