So basically, apple puts out a free backup utility which will upload to
it's own idisk service or burn to cd/dvd.  Problem is that it "requires" a
paid .mac account to work.

Bah!  Humbug!

This guy's found out that the authentication for .mac is weak, and was
able to set up a *nix box to spoof .mac auth so that his OS X boxen could do
remote backups to his OpenBSD box.
