cheers for that Eric, exactly the kind of feedback i was hoping for. After more googling as well, it seems like some people are reluctant to use Solaris with DB2 saying that some features are implemented first in Windows and AIX, but that there are plenty of people out there doing it and running stable and content. I'll be recommending Solaris 10 on a Sun Fire V880 - http://www.sun.com/servers/entry/v880/ - I'd like to get them to go up to an 8 way, but i'll see how the money is!
