Hello all, As with everything it takes time for a product to become recognized between masses.
The way it is going right now, I think it will evolve on its own. -- Alex Kovalenko Director of Operations www.VoIPGizmos.ca 1155 Boulevard René-Lévesque O., Suite 2500 Montréal, QC H3B 2K4 tel: 514.907.3192 ext. 701 toll: 888.KOVAS4S fax: 514.227.5377 On 6/15/07, Keith Major | Aquarius Telecom Inc. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
It's an excellent idea but, I have a reservation. In the end we would be advertising Digium (a company) and not our selves or our TAUG group. I have seen something like this attempted with Linux http://tux500.com/ however, there isn't to my knowledge a centralized corporation behind Linux as there is with Asterisk/Digium. I believe the best thing to do would be to advertise TAUG and have our companies sponsor it. At least we would be seen as the experts in Open Telephony and prospects would know who to contact in the GTA - TAUG or TAUG friendly businesses. Sponsors should be limited to ad space of XX pixels by XX pixels and pay an equal share to contribute. I was showing a friend of mine Ubuntu last night, and he was astonished that something so complete and useable was out there, and said "Why haven't I (a normal computer user) heard of this?" "Well, there's no advertising.", I said. Which brings up the question, does open source telephony need advertising? Is Digium(R)Asterisk advertising enough? Would it do any good to run a local ad campaign targeting IT & executives? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- No virus found in this incoming message.
