Bear in mind, you get what you pay for. I have tried several sub $100 telephones, and none of them stayed in service for more than a few months.
The Aastra 9112i is still pretty cheap, and it does very well with NAT, especially if you have a uPNP router in service (they will register with proper contact info). If you are interested in the Sipura hardware, they can in fact be provisioned using TFTP and http. This was always a tough part for me, since it wasn't well documented, but I stumbled upon a nice PDF manual on exactly how to do this using XML files, which may be very helpful. I have had pretty good luck with simple PAP2-NA devices, although the quality is only as good as the phone you plug into them. Most consumer phones are extremely prone to echo using an ATA. Contact me off list if you want, and I'll send them to you. -Tim On Monday 17 March 2008 21:09, Bruce Nik wrote: > Good Evening All :) > > For those of you who have experience in the area and have actually > implemented large volume of IP Phone sets or ATAs I have a few questions. > These units will be setup to connect to one central system (Asterisk) from > outside.
