I see there's quite a bit of info already given you on
this, so let me add some. :-)
I built a very nice (to admin :-) ) system
for apache using mod_perl. The mod_perl code basically replaces about 90%
of the guts for your httpd.conf. Upon startup it reads a .domains file
which is of the format:
<domain>:<ip>:<port>
It currently understands only 2 ports, 80 and 443, setting
up virtual or ip based domains on the fly, creating log directories, copying the
skeleton files over and generating ftp config files as well. Drop me a
line if you're interested and maybe we can do some kind of deal with
it.
