Thanks, Tony. As it turns out, it is cold enough that the ice on the edge and in the puddle has not melted at all so it probably wouldn't bother us much.

Almost the entire length of the Berkeley "boards" is coated with ice and snow in a band about 2 feet wide. The central puddle is of course there, and in these temps, the melted, dispersed water is just going to freeze again well before it has a chance to dry.
