I might be able to bring down some old time hockey guys if we ever skate again
soon:

1. Andre "Poodle" Lussier, defense.
Andre, as you know, has been living in semi-seclusion in Northern Quebec ever
since the unfortunate Denny Pratt tragedy.

2. Gilmore Tuttle.

from Mile 40, Saskatchewan, where he now runs a donut shop, number 10, former
penalty-minute record holder for the years 1960 to 1968 inclusive.

3. Ogie Ogilthorpe
this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the
notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to
accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle.

4. Ross 'Mad Dog' Madison
With his trusted friend and attorney Sam "Small Print" Lyman at his side, Mad
Dog was lured out of retirement for the Federal League championship.

5. Clarence "Screaming Buffalo" Swamptown
I'll never forget an exclusive interview in which Swamptown revealed that he
calls his hockey stick the "Big Tomahawk," and he usually refers to the
opposing players as "the little scalps".

And why did no one put down a huge 200x85 tarp and fill it w/ water?!?! ;-)

Joe,

I'm not sure I follow your logic there - ice is ice, rubber wheels are
rubber wheels and never the twain should meet. That center puddle is pretty
huge, and unavoidable, even in half court. Catching just the edge of it, you'd
go down like a ton of bricks, or worse, tear a knee ligament, that's not my
idea of Saturday morning fun.

On another note, I lost my Allen Key. If anyone sees a three pronged one with
a red rubber handle, I'd be obliged.

Next week.

Thanks, Tony. As it turns out, it is cold enough that the iceon the edge and
in the puddle has not melted at all so it probably wouldn’tbother us much.
If only we had the numbers… I’ve got a new guythat wants to play but that
would still only be 3 on 3. I will tell himto come next week…

Sorry Gents, I'm reallypessimistic about the surface. Almost the entire length
of the Berkeley"boards" is coated with ice and snow in a band about 2 feet
wide. The central puddle is of course there, and in these temps, the
melted, dispersed water is just going to freeze again well before it has a
chance todry. This would make an even bigger icy area than the puddle already
is. Nature has dictated no hockey tomorrow I'm afraid.

If enough guys indicate they would want to play tomorrow, I'll make the effort
to sprinkle some IceMelt on the main puddle and see if I can get rid of it.
