>From the editors:
Tomorrow's our last chance to see Barack Obama and John McCain debate each
other. Will we learn anything about their policies or voting records as they
relate to women? If their past debates (or the vice presidential debate between
Joe Biden and Sarah Palin) are any indication, probably not. In four and a half
hours of debate time, we only saw token nods to women's rights.
The Wednesday debate will be on domestic issues, and we will almost surely hear
the candidates' differences on abortion. But where do they stand on other
issues women care about like equal pay, family planning, contraception, and
gender equity in education?
AlterNet has put together a voter guide to help answer those questions. We
scoured voting records and candidate statements to give you an up-to-date look
at how Obama and McCain compare on these crucial issues. Take a look before you
make your trip to the ballot box and forward it to your friends so they can do
the same!
Thanks for reading,
