hi
i am trying to set up gaim on a debian machine,
but at the end of ./configure i get an error that the glib-config script
can not be found:

If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in"
echo "*** your path, or set the GLIB_CONFIG environment variable to the"
echo "*** full path to glib-config."

i installed glib-1.2.9,
but i still get this error
now, i do not intend to use gnome or kde,
i want to run only blackbox
could this be the issue - does gaim only run in gnome?
