aterm should have nothing to do with it, as your tests indicated.  Have you 
tried using a different style?  You did not say, may I presume this is with 
the recently release 0.65.0?

As Ryan points out a sig11 is often the sign of random computer failure.  
Heat, bad memory, incorrect overclocking, wrong phase of the moon, sporadic 
radiation leaks from the nearby linear accelerator, etc.  bbuptime failing is 
extra bizarre.  Please note a segfault is not a sig11.
