So, apparently I need to watch my mouth... > Hmm, borders for textures. Who's stealing who's ideas? I don't care > that you want to do that. I think we should make our styles match. First off, for what it is worth, this border in textures code was something posted to the blackbox feature request page at sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=613119&group_id=40696&atid=428683 Second, this made lots of sense while I was working on the new menus that will go into the new libbt that shaleh and I are working on. Since I have made each menu use only a single window, I decided to make my life a little easier by drawing borders in the texture code, instead of doing it all by hand in the exposeEvent handler (like i did in moving_target*). Third, the style stuff may or may not change, I don't know. As shaleh and I work on things, we may decide to revise the look slightly (as I have done with the menus). If this means a few changes to the style syntax, then so be it. > > [23:16] (@nyz) last i looked, it was a hack of blackbox > > [23:16] (@nyz) his change logs say stuff like "reforked from the > > 0.65.0 release" > > Since when does having common code make it a HACK? Bullshit. Well, I don't really have any defense to the things I said, so the only thing I can do is apologize. Next time, I will do my best to make knowledgable and thought out comments. > If you don't like someone using your _open sourced_ window manager to > make something they like better..why is it open source? Change your > license and stop complaining. Oh, most of the recent changes in CVS > are looking pretty damn close the code in Openbox 2. So this bitching > seems quite out of line. I don't mind if people decide to change things. What I do mind is spending weeks preparing for a release after changing/revising/rewriting massive amounts of code, and then once it's released someone just decides to scoop it up and readd their changes. Granted, the license allows it. But, it doesn't mean that I have to like it. But just because I get a bit discouraged/disheartened by doesn't mean I'm going to change the license, shutdown CVS and then start demanding download fees. > Perhaps we could all grow up a little here. Stop fighting over.. (what > are we fighting over again? I dont see a point to any of this.) As I mentioned above, this started because of me being a bit annoyed over some of the things that have been happening lately. You recall that I sent you mail this weekend regarding text on the openbox webpage, correct? At first, it did piss me off a bit to see "Openbox was previously known as Blackbox", but I didn't blow up and I sent you mail asking you to change it. You did, and I'm glad. However, I was a bit quick to shoot off my mouth. I do apologize about that. > Bye. > xOr -- Bradley T.
