waaaoooowww, that's exactly what I needed. Geez, I admire you guys who know 
how to handle Linux. And I admire the coders of this marvel and all the stuff 
that comes with it.

yes, I always boot into runlevel 3 - no X by default (that's what I don't like 
in W2K).
