You may recall that over the past 3+ years, I sometimes have issues where my mouse pointer is stuck within one window (usually within the rectangle of an rxvt). For example, I can move the pointer, but the arrow will not leave the window's borders.
Even if another window is above it, I can see how the pointer only follows the outline of the window it is stuck in (below). Usually when this happens, I log in remotely and kill blackbox. I have an rxvt always running (because of this issue), so I type in blackbox and continue my work. This hang last happened a few days ago; I am not sure how long blackbox had been running, but XFree86 has been running since November 18. (This box also has another blackbox user used via vnc.) Many times the same problem occurs -- the mouse pointer will be stuck in a window -- but it only lasts for a few seconds or minutes during some heavy load or something that is making this system busy. Has anyone see this? Does anyone ever have the pointer get stuck in a single window? (Maybe only during some heavy load?) This is XFree86 4.2.0, Blackbox 0.65.0, and bbkeys version 0.8.5 running on an updated NetBSD/i386 1.6 system. Maybe next time it happens, I will provide some tracing or debugging info. (Which I have done in the past a couple times; note that this issue has been happening to me for years with different versions of X and blackbox on different hardware and different operating systems.) Jeremy C. Reed http://www.isp-faq.com/ -- find answers to your questions p.s. generally blackbox works great for me; I often have 50+ clients running all the time. Hmmm... I wonder where that "Xlib: Maximum number of clients reached" is defined ... I see MAXCLIENTS should be 128, but I see that my descriptors (open files) is only at 64, I need to bump that. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] List archives: http://asgardsrealm.net/lurker/splash/index.html Trouble?
