I think this is a very valid point IMHO. Personally, I seldom use the toolbar
since I can use a dockapp to tell the time, and I have a relaxed environment
with many desktops so between that and the bbpager I don't really need the
toolbar to tell me the workspace or the current window.

On the other hand, I use the menu but I know people who would rather use a
slit based solution, such as drawers or buttons.

Third, should someone wish to implement an alternative toolbar, or a taskbar,
or another menu, it would be better, I think, to have them create separate
applications rather than submitting patches against Blackbox, which would be
noticed by only a handful of people, used by even fewer, and eventually die
out due to the Blackbox code advancing and not enough updating done on the
patches.

I for one would love to have bbtoolbar and bbmenu as separate applications. Of
course, I wouldn't know what this means code-wise but I suspect it is easier
to do since the shared library came to be.
