These defaults result in defective fullscreen attempts (the missing bottom quarter I described). Who's around that uses the FULLSCREEN hint and messes with mplayer? I'm thinking it's the root window...
I may have to install mplayer to see what is going on... Blackbox 0.70.0rc (or cvs) does really well with fullscreen windows like FireFox, Konqueror, etc.
The manpage recommends using -fstype -fullscreen for Openbox 1.x users. If you do this, it means leaving NetWM with only ABOVE and BELOW honoured. This allows me to go fullscreen properly, but it's too much: nothing can come over mplayer anymore, which may not be desired (I for one have some popup alert windows I'd like to see).
Indeed... Blackbox makes special provisions for fullscreen windows... if a fullscreen window has focused and is raised, it is placed at the top of the stack, above everything else. When the window looses focus, Blackbox puts it behind all other windows (until it's focused again, in which case it's moved back on top).
