I've seen some people that translate XLFDs to fontconfig descriptions, so that no matter what you specify, you always get an Xft font (and antialiasing)... I'm guessing this is what you are wanting :)
No, not particularly, I was just stating my "discovery" not wishing for it to be otherwise. It may even be more flexible this way, I am
all for flexibility. Not all fonts can be used by fontconfig and I
dunno how reliable a translation from XLFD to fontconfig namespace
can be. It may be more trouble than it's worth.
We'll see what shows up in the sourceforge tracker ;)
