For what it's worth to those still using 0.51.x, I use bbpager for this
functionality. I've trimmed its dimensions down to the point where it rests
just to the left of the toolbar, and is exactly as high, leaving me just as
much screen real estate as I would have without it.
This is the primary reason I have not yet moved to 0.60.
