Robert-
I would say that there should be a compile time option (probably on
by default) to enable autohiding in general, and there should be a
run-time option to autohide the slit, the toolbar, both or neither.
That way, people who will never use autohiding don't have to have
feature bloat, while people who do use it have maximum flexability.
People who thought it shouldn't be in the main code can just use the
compile time option to disable it. ;-)
