I agree with your "rant" (if this is one). BTW, adding a thing a'
la Oberon tracks would not be feasible (very, very likely) through a few
compile extras only; it could not be inherited so easily ... how much of
the "original" concept need to be watered down (it certainly would not
demand /all/ that power) has not yet been evaluated, there would be
intersections, redundancies with X, et cetera ... summa summarum: there
are trade-offs to be considered, /many/, probably; and yes, there are
plenty of Aesop stories a' la "better a live dog than a dead
lion" too ... your remarks hit the mark.
