I think we here are talking about KDM, and that's good - NP. What happens if
you make a symbolic link fra .xinitrc to .xsession?
And make sure that the rights on .xnitrc has the executable bit set.
Also make sure it says "exec blackbox" on the last line in
.xinitrc/.xsession
