Ok, I finally had a chance to test this patch, and it appears to work
relatively well. I am looking into a better mouse, but at least now I can
get started configuring.

BTW - the workspaces menu appears to be present already in the default
configuration. I'm running 0.61, so maybe this was a new change in the
distribution?
