I'm not a programmer, but I'd say that having each slit identify itself in the
wm string (i.e. slit0, slit1, etc) would be the most convenient. This way,
you could use bbappconf to have apps bond to each slit, and you could even set
up a shift-click mechanism or something to move an app from one slit to
another.
