..I'll probably be 'blugeoned to s*it by big f*cking rocks' for this...

Maybe you people are forgetting something. Blackbox (and a lot of other stuff)
is 'freely-distributable, open-source software' and anyone can do whatever
they want to it.
There are people who want the 3d text, image loading, and a bunch of other
crap. Let them put it in their own copy, and don't complain when they do.
(L)user: Does Blackbox have a 3D text option?
Me: Do you know C++?
(L)user: Umm... No.
Me: Well then...I guess not.
Feature-creep? Umm, as far as I look at it, defining feature creep is stating
a pure opinion, plain and simple. There are people who use Enlightenment, and
they think it's the greatest thing, what with all that eye candy. I personally
find E (and most other WM's) too slow, and (usually) too ugly.
I happen to like Blackbox just the way it was coded, I mean the bar is pretty
tiny on my screen (a slightly distorted 1280x1024), and it looks pretty damn
good that way.
(And for you bbkeysConfGtk users, I have a nice little patch to bbkeys that
trys this order: bbkeysconf, bbkeysConfGtk, xterm bbkeysConfigC, and rxvt
bbkeysConfigC. I'll post it if there's any interest...)
