I think the idea was to have a separate button (like an up-arrow, ^ or
carat). Sort of like a "Start" button. (But I am not sure. Your idea works
too.)
Not only does it show the main menu, but also a menu listing that lists
all the clients (iconized and also open) for all workspaces all under one
menu.
