I personally find Skipstone to be buggy, non keyboard friendly, and it has a few UI pains (for example, it uses the typical GTK+ single click/double click/triple click behavior when selecting text; this kind of sucks for a browser, though). I'd recommend Light. It can be found at: http://www.ne.jp/asahi/linux/timecop/ It required some screwing with the Mozilla headers to get working(it's a GTK+ Gecko-based browser), but in the end it was worth it. But, seriously, X on a 486 is simply unrealistic. Stick to the console.
