This is a reply to set things straight. I have been horribly 'slandering' bsetbg's reputation :) All the problems were caused by my sloppy handling of Imlib2 and all it's accoutrements. I had not noticed that even Eterm was not working properly. Now this is fixed bsetbg handles pseudo-transparancy perfectly and I can work with background images as of old. Mea culpa. (The only thing that remains is the 'tempfile' thingy but that does not appear to cause any problems as far as I can see. So I don't know if I will look for the patch (yet). Should I? ). Alexander
