I run Debian, which does a great job of automatically updating a
menu which is imported by Blackbox. I want to either have a custom menu
that I maintain with the Debian menu as a submenu, or else have a custom
submenu on the Debian menu.

How are other people handling this issue? I've tried to add a hook to
import a custom file to the Debian menu but haven't made it work, and it
doesn't feel like the appropriate technique--the Debian menu system is
more suited for packages or sytem-wide changes than single user
customizations (although my box is effectively single-user).

I suppose I could maintain a custom menu section in Blackbox syntax and
write a script to munge it together with the default Debian menu into
~/.blackbox/menu, but is there a better method?

TIA,

Paul
